DARJEELING HIMALAYAN RAILWAY

When in Darjeeling you can’t miss the experience of having a joyous ride on ‘DHR’ also known as ‘Darjeeling Toy Train’. It is a 2ft narrow gauge train which runs between NJP and Darjeeling, in West Bengal India. It provides a beautiful experience of sightseeing of beautiful mountains, local shops and small villages. A ride on such a heritage transport is always relaxing and charming.

TIGER HILL

It lies at an altitude of 2,590 meters and is 13 kilometers away from Darjeeling. If you want to experience the view of the sunrise, it is the best place to visit. You can have a magnificent view of the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kanchenjunga. Tourists from all over the country visits here. This is also the peak of Ghoom, the highest railway station in the DHR.

HIMALAYAN ZOOLOGICAL PARK

It is spread over an area of 65.56 acres. It is home to many endangered species such as snow leopards, red pandas, and Himalayan salamanders. This place is also home to more than 200 species of plants including Oak, Birch, and Alder.

OBSERVATORY HILL

Located near the Chowrasta Square, it is a place for tourist attraction. This place is famous for the Kangchenjunga and the ancient temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

BATASIA LOOP

This place is famous for the Gorkha housing, it provides a 360 degree view of the Darjeeling hills. You can visit this place by Toy Train and can enjoy the beautiful view of the parks. You can also visit a nearby local craft market.

HAPPY VALLEY TEA ESTATE

It is one of the most visited tea estates, surrounded by a breathtaking view over a massive span of 437 acres. It also houses one of the highest tea factories in the world established in 1854, which was later on taken by an Indian aristocracy from Hoogly. You can surely spend a peaceful time here and enjoy the view.

JAPANESE PEACE PAGODA

It was built by a Japanese Buddhist monk Nichidatsu Fuji, during 1885-1985. This Buddhist shrine is located in a very beautiful location. The structure is white with gold painted detail. It is 23 sq meters wide and 28.5 meters high. You can witness the typical Buddhist architect used here.
